It's quite possible that if you were to Google the term "embarrassment of riches," this watch would show up on the front page. While that's obviously a bit of random hyperbole, these Seikomatic Self Daters really were blinged out in the movement department. Where many of the watches Seiko was releasing (and still does even today) featured 17-jewel movements, this monster's automatic cal. 395 movement had a whopping 39 jewels tucked inside. 

Many view these ref. J13060 models to be spiritual predecessors to the automatic Grand Seikos that would follow, which adds a little extra panache to this already super cool, instantly classic piece.

SPECS

CASE & BRACELET

The previously polished case shows light use but remains in very good and symmetrical condition. The caseback features crown and dolphin logos as well as other markings that are quite legible considering the watch's age. It features its original recessed crown at the 4 o'clock position. The watch comes on a 2pc handmade leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The lume-free silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, showing very minimal signs of aging. The rectangular hour markers are all perfectly intact with little to no signs of age. The outer minutes track is a slightly lighter shade of silver, adding a bit of depth to the presentation. The slim dauphine-style hands are all original and in great condition.

ACCESSORIES 

None. The watch is running and functioning correctly, though the service history is unknown. A movement service can be purchased upon request.
