This antique solid 18K gold watch chain dates to the late 1800s and is so beautiful. I was really tempted to hoard it... I spent a long time trying to get the perfect combination, and it's finally ready to be shown!
Featuring a romantic solid 18K gold paperclip chain interspersed with detailed knots, it also features two original antique clasps in solid 18K gold: a spring clasp and a swivel clip clasp (hallmarked for 18K). There is one link with the slightest kink (see the fourth link above the swivel clasp in the second picture), quite normal for its age, and not obvious unless you're looking for it. This does not affect its weability or durability at all.
By itself, this is already a heavy, heirloom quality chain in amazing condition, and, at 13.5 inches, can be worn as a tight choker or wrapped around twice as a bracelet. However, to increase its wearability, I added an extender that can also be worn by itself as a bracelet! Featuring a strand of stunning, glossy saltwater Akoya pearls with thick nacre, interspersed with a single aquamarine gemstone barrel and a French early 1900s antique solid 18K gold link, closed with an elegant solid 14K gold clasp in a modern rounded rectangle shape.
This means that this versatile piece can be worn in several ways: As two separate bracelets, as a bracelet stack, as a choker necklace or as a longer everyday pearl necklace! Love this piece and it's definitely a #futureheirloom to treasure.
All metal is solid 18K gold except the clasp for the new bracelet and the crimps and crimp covers, which are all solid 14K gold. Measures about 19.5 inches (49.5 cm) around. Antique watch chain alone measures 13.5 inches (34 cm) in length and the bracelet measures 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) in length (can be lengthened by adding pearls, please let me know your preferred bracelet length upon checkout).
