Inspired by WWII aircraft spotter cards, the TR 9-1575 deck assembles a comprehensive collection of coveted vintage military Field, Aviator and Dive tool watches.
Spanning 54 individual designs, many would agree it's a collection of a life time - at least on paper.
SHUFFLE INTO THE PAGES OF HISTORY
The TR 9-1575 deck comprises a meticulously referenced collection of military time pieces bridging across 60 years of horological history, printed in detailed scale where possible.
“Pip/ Number” cards are arranged with each suit progressing through a chapter of wrist watch evolution from each service.
“Court/ Face” cards depict a special selection of military pocket watches and clocks.
“Ace” cards depict a service branch or category, while the “Jokers” convey the infamous “radioluminescent” duo of Radium and Tritium.
STATE OF THE COLLECTION, ON PAPER:
The TR 9-1575 deck is printed on heavy stock premium German Black Core Paper for maximum opacity.
It is then linen textured and laminated with a smooth butter surface to allow air to flow between each card resulting in a luxurious handing and shuffling experience.
The typography is carefully custom drawn while closely referenced to 1940s printing and engraving, (something different from the beloved flat top fours!), while the suit icons are based on vintage watch hand designs.
On the decorative back, you will find a less commonly seen rectangular movement printed with hot silver foil, bordered by a railway track and base pattern in Haveston Red.
